My 1st gen makes me nostalgic for a time period I wasn’t even alive for.

Just wanted to introduce myself. I have an 87 4runner I bought in Idaho while I lived there. Since I have owned it, I put a 22rte in it with a bigger turbo, an intercooler, manual hubs, R151F and just drove the crap out of it. Suspension, paint, interior is all stock and in decent condition. Last spring the muffler rusted out, so I drove a good chunk of last summer straight piped - entertaining my inner ricer/high schooler. This spring I did a full 3" stainless exhaust from down pipe to axle with a CAT and resonator. It is a nice balance between whisper quiet that it was before and straight pipe.

Here a a few beauty shots and when I blew the head gasket a few years ago.

Freshly Raptored

Just got the wheels to finish the exterior, and an old tube bumper Im going to modify first.

Real happy with how she turned out. 2 weeks of Covid19 lockdown put some time on my hands!

Brake booster does look shabby! haha
So easy to put things off like painting the brake booster, out of sight of of mind! Not as obvious as a broken windshield, missing exhaust, etc.
It is on the list of projects this year, stay tuned for more pics!
