Just bought the 4Runner for winter and summer fun use and don't plan on doing too much to it other than just get it tuned up and running right and prob doing a 2 inch body lift so I can put 33's on it. Maybe add a few little goodies but NOT building a trail rig or anything. Finding a 84-88 in my area with no rust is damn near impossible but i found her about 5 hours away with no rust and original paint. Has a few dents but nothing major so I may end up painting it later. As far as the 2wd, I've had it for a while and it's been in a couple minor accidents so I just rattle canned it camo, put 4 inch blocks in the rear, cranked the torsions in the front, flipped the ball joints and put some old Starion wheels on it. Also put 4wd fenders, valence, and grill so I can put 8 inch Starions up front when I finally find another set. The women's 2010 Rav4 Sport is in the background too. Let me know what you guys think...

Wow!!! That is just crazy!! Brings me back to the old days when I had my '89 Starion ESI-R

The only problem is that it was stolen manyl yrs later after they bought it, and it was missing a wheel and plenty of other things when they found it, but they were able to find a rim nearly exactly ike it, problem is that the backspacing is an inch different than the rest, so one rim is an inch tucked in more than the other 3..
that sucks about the rim issue. maybe you can get another one so at least two and two match.

Thanks! You know, I've never known how it rides without the add a leaf. I CAN say that the thing rides smooth, and I'm nearly maxing out my flex in the back. On the last trip I checked and I was only 1/4" or so from hitting the bump stops. The front WAS hitting the bump stops. So I think the rear is doing alright.

Could you give me some details on your truck? I decided that during my rebuild, I would do some suspention work too. Might as well do it while its not running and I have time lol. But i'm gonna finish scraping my sticker off and hopefully my truck will grow up to be like yours lol

Yeah no prob man ur truck looks like a really good starting point... It's kinda a pain to get the stickers off but deffinatly worth it I think... Suspension wise I just have the 1.5in bj spacers on it up front and the Zuk mod in the rear I went with 14x2.5x125 Coil spring in the rear and am more than happy with them.. But after I did the Zuk mod I found out icon makes a 3 leaf aal for our pickups and its only about 60 dollars more than the Zuk mod and it seemed pretty legit so that's another option to look into... But I think I'm gonna get ready to do the Chevy 63's and sell my Zuk springs

J&HFab..... Didja do that bumper? I know it's probably year specific... but I LIKE IT! Not a big fan of REALLY tall stingers... Thats' pretty 'in the middle'... Also, IF you do those.... do you do straight across style like my grill gaurd?(rather than a triangular look, I mean)...>>>

Hey chef like ur runner man its really nice..... as for the bumper and stinger we built them at my buddies shop Full Metal Fabworks in redlands ca... as for year specific its not really we just went for a clean look on the bumper but i bet it would look good on a 1st gen runner... if ur interested or know anyone who is here is a link to his page if u wanna check him out
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Full-M...ref=ts&fref=ts
He mostly does production bumpers and stuff but is open on the weekends to do bumpers or stingers or anything u want really if u just talk to him he is a pretty easy going southerner

Yea man you see I still have the thin strip down the side. I just got tired of dealing with it that day lol. Only difference is that I want to get a new "TOYOTA" sticker for the back.

I thought i could see springs back there lol it just looks a little higher than bj spacers and a zuk! My truck is mainly a dd but i wheel it every now and again. How do the springs and bj spacers ride on the road? With turns and bumps and all? I was asking Chef the other day about his sway bar removal. These are all things that I am interested on lol.

And are your 33's 10.50 or 12.50?

Thanks!! Greg
