I made this out of an old intake I had from a Nissan Hardbody and a couple couplers. AFM is repainted now and filter sets lower in corner...

I'm loving the green.

I had that same setup and i figured i would warn you, that pipe is too weak in the long run. i had mine on for about 2 years then one day i drove over a railroad crossing and the pipe sheared off where it was clamped and left me stranded

I was just inquiring about the upper triangle shaped piece of the intake silencer. A lot of ISR pictures showed the piece in the new setup.

I'm not sure of the radiator brand. The radiator shop ordered it for me. It is a pretty darn stout radiator for sure! I will see if i can get the lowdown.

I was not overly impressed with the intake quality, but I wasn't expecting much for under 40 bones. Where exactly did your pipe shear off? I would have to imagine at one of the metal clamps around the aluminum pieces not at the rubber coupler.

You'd have to extend the MAF wires and batt. cables but you'd end up with a slightly cooler intake air temp and a cleaner engine bay.
thats my plan for mine switch the batt and intake

Ok........stupid question for the 3.0 guys......What are you doing with the lower "thing" that ties into the stock intake tube? (located up front is a box looking deal down next to the radiator) It looks like everyone is doing away with it..........am I right?

not sure what you mean by the aluminum piece but it first broke a 2" long piece off the engine side but i was able to stretch the coupling long enough the get home but then it broke another 1" piece off the intake side a couple days later. The cracks started where the hose clamp were.

actually when i bought the truck the stock intake was held on with duct tape but when the cheap intake crapped out i snagged a chunk of 2 1/2" rigid PVC from work and heated it up to make the bend.

Here is mine.

- Spectre 3" aluminum tube $40
- 2 couplers (3" to 2.75") $6.50 each
- 2' of 5/8 hose $2
- 2' of 3/8 hose $2

$60 is more than I wanted to spend, but I am pleased with the result. The only thing I want to change is the short hose from the valve cover to the intake tube. I need someone at Autozone to help me get creative and find a small "S" shape hose that will fit.
