Poor Acceleration

Hi,
Im new here. I have a 94 4Runner automatic 2WD with 165k miles. Lately it idles high, at about 200. Every Once in a while it has acceleration problems. I will hit the gas and it has almost no power. it will rev hard and run at about 2-300,000 RPM, and all the sudden kick in when it reachesat 400,000RPM. CHeck Engin light is on. A mechanic cleared a CL-9 code, i think it was. I'll have to find the paper. SO the light went off for a day, but the problem persisted and light came back on. when its running really bad, the overdrive button will flash on and off. I replaced the spark plugs, cleaned out the throttle body. This thing leaks oil pretty bad, so I make sure it stays full. Any input you guys could give me would be awesome. Please tell me its not a transmission problem.

yeah, you will have to go down and buy the manual for your vehicle and look up the code yourself. unless anyone on here could let us know what it is?
