Get the new nut from the dealer.

The only problem might be retorqueing the nut and maintaining the proper adjustment of the pinion to ring gear clearance. The crush sleeves are intended to be used only once.

If I put a solid sleeve backin that should take care of that issue. Does the transfer case have a crush sleeve also??

Nope. The transfer case does not have a sleeve.

solid spacers require shims... dont forget that. Crush sleeves dont use shims.

I think that the solid spacer kit from Yukon Gear comes with the shims. Solid spacers are the way to go. Much easier to deal with than messing with the crush sleeves.

btw: I made a mistake earlier. The crush sleeve sets the bearing preload on the pinion gear rather than the pinion clearance which is set separately.
