Pickup vs 4Runner Interiors

Pickup vs 4Runner Interiors
I purchased a 92 SR5 ExCab Pickup for $350 with a snapped timing belt. The garage stated all the parts that were replaced by the old client and when the timing belt went, the client was finished replacing parts on it. I bought the truck because of the body (rust free), the new auto trans, tires, new rear diff. The interior was shot. Here are some pictures of it:
I replaced the timing belt, tensioner, idler, water pump, coolant, and power steering pump. The truck runs perfect now with 194K on it.
Yesterday, I purchased mint 94 4Runner front bucket seats, door panels, auto shifter assembly and console. I am bummed because the door panels are 4" inches shorter than the SR5 pickup door panels.
What should I do? The chances of finding another SR5 pickup with good door panels and matching bucket seats is going to be a needle in a haystack.
Thanks,
Chris

The bucket seats should fit - just keep an eye out for the door panels. A lot of things ARE the same between pickups and 4runners. Some say from the front seats forward the rigs are almost identical.

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I have to decide what I am going to do. I wanted the pattern on the seats and door panels to match.
s_wall98 - I will keep you posted if I decide to let the door panels go. I will take pictures and pm you them.
Thanks,
Chris

Keep in mind too that the 4Runner seats do not have a rear passenger release like the truck does. You will have to physically slide them forward from the front in order to access the back area.
I am very Jealous, a truck in that nice of shape with only a timing belt issue would go for at least 1500 around here. NICE find!

First of all, it IS very hard to find SR5 pickup door panels in good condition for a decent price for a 3rd gen.
Second, ONLY two-door, i.e. RARE, 4Runner door panels will fit the pickups correctly and are harder to find in good condition than pickup panels.
You are better off refurbishing the panels you do have or having custom ones made than trying to find stock ones in better condition than what you have.
I don't look everyday but, I haven't seen ANY panels you could use on eBay in a year that I have been looking.
On a side note if you do find something else I will gladly make a deal for your old panels.....I don't care how worn the upholstery is or dirty they are.....if they are complete and not broken....I'll take them!
P.S. I recently installed 4Runner seats in my pickup, they were not a direct bolt-in for me but did work and they do not slide forward as much as the Pickup seats do.

Hey dude, this guy http://www.4x4wire.com/forums/showfl...=1#Post1084033 is parting out a 90 2dr 4runner and says it has a good grey interior... Might be just what you're looking for.

I would just try and salvage the stock carpet if you can if at all possible. You will have a VERY hard time trying to get generic carpet to work and look as good or fit as good as the stock carpet. And buying stock carpet new is expensive. I would give it an extremely good vacuum and then pull out all the seats and have the carpet professionally steam cleaned.
I would also not let the fact that it's difficult to find stock SR5 truck parts let you down. Keep what you have and keep searching and looking - get a searching routine going and check every week. I wouldn't go custom - but I would either keep searching or try and work with what you have if you can clean it and live with it in the mean time.
Do yourself a favour - after you get the carpets steam cleaned (if you follow my advice), go and buy/order a set of Grey Husky Liners for your truck. I have them in mine and they are simply awesome and fit extremely well, compliment the stock "look" and colour of the rest of the interior. They are also extremely durable. They also protect the carpet very well.
Another thing you might want to consider is to replace those dash parts - I believe 4runners and trucks whether SR5 or not do share the same dash parts so those SHOULD be easy to find I would imagine. Take some armourall and spray a bit of it into a 4 liter pale and then add some warm water. Take a cloth and use this solution (wring out the cloth) to wipe down the entire interior. Then when the interior dries go and buy some Meguiars NXT Interior protectant and wipe down the entire interior (well the plastic parts/dash, door vinyl, etc.). It will look awesome afterwards. That is what I have done to my interior and do periodically and it looks great.

I guess it depends on what you define as "expensive". Stock carpet at www.rockatuo.com is a good price, it's new, and you can even go with molded vinyl instead if you want something that will last forever and be super easy to take care of. But all of their carpet is molded to fit the floorpan, so it's just install and go. Less than $150.
