Performance enhancement Chips

What do you guys think about performance inhancement chips for '94 toyota 4-runner 3.0? There is one on ebay for ~25 bucks that says it will add 35hp and possibly 4 mpg? Is this a good option for my runner with 150k miles?

Thoughts?

There are lots of places that advertise stuff like that. I've never seen any that actually work without jacking up the motor with regards to emissions/timing/etc.

My advice is to stay away from it.

Toyota's computers are Read Only, no chip will fix anything.
you could have the ECU re-flashed= Pricey and of not much use for a 3.0

Only good way is to go with a piggy back computer and all the other stuff to make it work.
Check out Gadgets site for more info on piggybacks and widebands to help the 3.4

while Gadgets site is 3.4 related the idea is the same
extra computers to assist the stock computer
