parts diagram database

As I delve into gradual restoration of my 94 pickup, I would like to know if there is a good source for exploded diagrams showing individual parts with the manufacturer part numbers.

It would be great to not rely on the dealer for part numbers while pretending to be interested in buying directly from them.

I find this site useful:: Toyota parts catalog (epc-data.com)

Also, these SKF master bearing and seal interchange Pdf's convert most Toyota bearing and seal part numbers to SKF numbers.

Then, those SKF numbers might be used to discover other bearing and seal makers equivalent parts::

SKF_bearing_master_interchange_2009.pdf (canadawideparts.com)

skf-seals-master-interchange-cat-457012.pdf (absbearings.com)

The part I am actually looking for is one of these clips that snap in and take a screw to secure across the top of the panel under the steering wheel. For this the dealer is probably the place to go and can go in the parts department where they can probably narrow it down. Nevertheless, I was wishing for a diagram of the interior with the various parts called out. Does anyone know of a depository of diagrams such as that which the parts department has at their fingertips?

As you browse YotaTech, you'll see many postings providing part numbers. Most of the posters reference online dealer sites. My favorite is https://parts.lakelandtoyota.com/sho...rimLevel=18380 If they have the part you want, you can place your order and you're done.

Remember that the clip you want is repeated over and over throughout your vehicle, and the diagram is only going to show it once. This isn't "paint by numbers." Also, if you hope to match the part you want by looking at it's drawing, well, good luck. A clip like that won't be very large on the drawing.

epc-data.com is actually the best source I have found so far, however it does not take my VIN and went to toyodiy.com to find the frame number: RN80L-TRMREAB

with this, the diagram was actually the same as that which the dealer had for my VIN and is called out for a 4runner:

It actually does not show that lower panel correctly as mostly a cover for under the steering wheel, without a vent but has the hood release.

When working through the menu at epc-data.com for model pickup, all the frame subcategories (LN40L & RNXXL) are for 22R engines and show the older interior design:

I realize the 4Runner and pickup became synonymous in most respects starting with fuel injection, except for a few differences. Yet if the dealer is blind to the distinction, maybe these differences have been lost to history? If the VIN comes up with a 4Runner, somehow I doubt someone has a frame number for a 94 pickup I can try entering in the system for a diagram that matches these trucks?

The first gen 4Runner parts info was on microfiche. Everything revolved around the vehicle’s model number. The counter person also had to be skilled with Toyota’s various symbols (#*’...) when narrowing down the choices.
in the mid 90’s the first epc started to roll out. By this time the 80’s stuff was ancient history and Toyota did pretty much the bare minimum getting the old info into a digital format. That’s why counterpeople struggle on the epc trying to look parts up for the old stuff. The old FSM suffered a similiar fate when they went digital on the shop service manuals.

I bought those blue plastic nut serts. I tried some aftermarket ones and they were just ok. I finally bought the OEM ones and they were much better. Snug fit when you popped them in the square hole, and you could really tighten the down screws without fear of stripping the hole.

I use www.partsouq.com all the time. VIN specific and complete OE diagrams with part numbers, alternatives, and any relevant notes.
