parking brake

So what do you guys think is up with my parking brake, hasn't worked since I got the truck 3 years ago. I can't seem to pull the handle to get it to budge.

Have you looked underneath your truck? There's a number of things that could cause that. Mostly rusted, frozen up mechanisms.

I am going to check it out tomorrow morning, I had problems with it going into 4 low because of a rusted up linkage, I will get out my trusty pb blaster and go to town

If your situation is anything like mine was, you'll have to soak the levers on the drums and the equalizer on the axle a bit, and then take it apart and scrape the rust off completely to get everything to move freely again. Maybe you'll be luckier than I, though.

doesn't the parking brake adjust the rears though? Mine is rusted up solid at the drums, not too happy.
