Ok I resurected my 91 yota from junk yard condition and am getting down to the final stages of completeness. I got the ebrake stuff working all the way until the handle. If i pull on the halndle and keep pressure with my hand it will stop ad hold the truck but it will not lock in the "hold" position so bacically the rachet mechanism is not working. I was wondering if anyone elese has had this problem or could give me some ideas as to what it might be it wouldbe greatly appriciated. As well if anyone has a diagram of all the parts of the e brake asembly that would be very helpful as well. Thanks guy and any help is apriciated.

here is the handle assembly for the p/u

Sometimes it will be off by 180 degrees, and the ratchet will slide on the smooth side instead of the notched side.

 

check the 1993 FSM in the FSM sticky on the top of this forum..
