One quick question

What is the width of the stock 15" steel rims that come on a 1990 toyota 4runner? I believe they have a 4" back spacing. Im planning on ordering BFG A/T's tommorrow in 33"x12.5R15.

Im hoping that they are an 8 or 8.5" rim because if not it looks like I'll have to settle for a 10.5 or 11.5 depending on what sizes are carried at the local shops. ( I believe the rule is not to go any smaller than 4" but 4.5 can be cheated ) Funny I have to order them but can't order any size BFG makes, urgh oh well we will see. Oh and I dont have money for new rims right now.

Thanks

Dave

Ahhh crap, looks like 10.5's it is then. Unless i can find myself some rims and someone who will pay for them...

Thanks Elton!

***EDIT***

Just want to double check this information:

MODEL YEAR OE SIZE BOLT LUG NUT CB ET
PICKUP 4WD, 4 RUNNER 80-95 15 X 7 6X139.7 12mmX1.5 - L/M

Does anyone know any good sources for tire/ wheel combos (lol i know 10mins later and im considering new rims) that can be ordered online in canada?

Yeah I'm guessing a 7 inch rim is too narrow for 33x12.5's. I have 33x12.5x15's mounted on 10 inch wide rims. Heavy as hell

I don't know about the steel rims - but I would assume they're awful close to the aluminum rims. I just measured mine a day or two ago. Mine were stamped 15x7JJ8 and OFFSET 8. The rim width is 7", backspacing is about 4 3/8, and offset is 8mm. I don't know why, but I think offset is always in mm.

Here's a good page that explains how to measure wheels.

I'm running BJ spacers, so my upper A-arm comes within about 3/4" of the sidewall of my 33x10.5 R15s. I plan on going to 33x12.5s and when I do that, I'll have to get some new rims - I'm planning on going with 15x8 w/ 3.5 backspacing. If the tire grows 1" closer to the A arm, but I put it 7/8" further out, I will still have 1/2" room for clearance.

You can always get wheel spacers from marlincrawler.com if you don't want to get different rims.

Keep in mind though, that 33x12.5s are not recommended to go on 7" wide rims, but I've heard of people doing that. I wouldn't mind doing it for a trail set, but not to run on the road. After all, you're not gonna hurt anyone if the tire comes off the rim when you're running 15 PSI at max speeds of 25 mph...

For rims, see this thread

For tires, see this thread

Might find some combos on 4wheelparts.com, but I'm not sure.

Also check the classifieds on Yotatech, there are several combos going on in there.
