I don't like the color but other than that it is exactly what I want in another 1st Gen, very plain.

OUCH! $3900?!?!?!?!?!

it looks clean and nice and rust free, but $3900???!?!?!?!?!

FWIW, i just bought a 94 Acura legend GS w/ all the options and a 6-speed manual that was lady owned and dealer serviced for $3500. 8 years newer.
this car had an original sticker price of $42k as well.

like i said, it's nice, but i don't know if it's $3900-NICE.

follow your gut. go look at it. if it's what you want, then talk them down as much as you can and get it. you only live once...

That is a damn clean runner, however, it is an '86 which says IFS and it has 167k on it, not worth $3900 IMO. Regardless that it is in good shape, it is still 20 years old with a lot of miles and woman owned says to me, maintenance neglected. (I know that is not always true, but it tends to be the case)

Yes, there is no way I would give $3900 for it either. It seems that the first bid did not meet its reserve....hmmmm.

I paid $2200 for my current that is nearly mint, so that does seem high. IFS doesn't matter to me, I'm not a hardcore off road guy, just camping, hunting, fishing. The mileage is low compared to current, that mileage doesn't concern me in the slightest IF, (big if) it was maintained.

My wife wants a new Sienna, maybe the dealership would do a package deal for me! That would be my only shot, otherwise the wifey will shoot this down faster than you can say Jackie Robinson.

$2000 tops, assuming the engine and driveline are still in good shape. $3900 is crazy.

I'm doubting the sr5 claim too....dlx ??
3900 is too much - I bought my 89 sr5 a yr ago which had 145K for $2900. It was clean too (from AZ) & everything worked, but it did have it's little issues from neglect. But you have to expect that on something that old.
I'd at least check it out & see if they'll deal. I really doubt they'll get their reserve on ebay.

Looking closer it has the non split rear bench - this was added at port as an option (not sure but I think SR5's all came with the split bench from factory

Yes that seat looks like a domestic add-on.
I don't believe that this is an SR5 (I don't want one for my 2nd T4R, too many power things to go bad).

Yes I agree $3900 is too much. I was thinking $1800-$2000

well, if youve owned a 1st gen before, you know all the places to look for rust and repaint. up here, a working 4x4, not considering the shape of the body, goes for around 1k. go take a look at it and see if they will deal, the worst they are going to say is 'no'. good luck and keep us posted.

That is NOT a "clean" 4Runner. It's rusted to hell. Even in those low-res pics it can be seen along all the edges (fenders, valance, bottom of doors etc)
It's NOT an SR5 either, look at the cluster.
$1500 tops if you don't care about the rust. (Me, I wouldn't buy it - period. Rust...)

Here - to put it in perspective:
Take a wild guess how much this was bought for 2 weeks ago.
(and it has ZERO rust, anywhere, and it included a Warn winch on a multi mount.)

It's an 86, non-SR5.
How much would you pay?
"But wait, there's more!
Look under the hood!
NOW how much?
