Sorry, had to do some actual work...
$1700 Cash.
Drives like a dream.
Needs quieter mufflers.
Everything works.
Interior is trash though.
*I* never find the good deals though. (Well the Flamed truck was pretty good.)

Here's some good lookers... Sorry they're so far from Iowa though... It would be worth the $800 or so to have one shipped.

yeah those look good. I like the brown one especially, don't know why but I really like that brown for the 4Runner.

Those are WAY out of my price range, especially if I factor shipping in.

At this point I'm thinking maybe early Toyota 2wd pick up, better mileage which is becoming an issue for me and my 3.0 w/auto. Then I could better keep the T4R in its current condition.

I picked them because they were about the same price as that ebay listed one, but in much better shape. Prices around here start at about 1500. Never any rust. Why anyone would ever start out by buying something that is already rusty just amazes me. Rust never sleeps, so they say. Usually 2 grand will get you a stocker in decent shape, 3 grand for a real nice one, 4 grand will get you one that already has 33s or 35s and gears and lockers, ready to rock and roll. They are plentiful.

It must be so nice to live somewhere where they don't salt the poop out of the roads. Here (Southern Iowa) it is inevitable that your vehicle WILL rust, ,so I wouldn't mind buying one as my beater with moderate rust already.

That being said it is POSSIBLE to find an older yota with little to no rust here. I bought my 88 from a guy in Minneapolis. He was the original owner and the Runner had spent its first 15 years in California and Nevada. He had it in Minnesota a year. In that year two quarter sized spots on the bottom of the fenders had started to bubble. I used some Rust Bullet on those, but its only a matter of time. That's why I want another yota to drive in the winter, save my 88 to keep it looking great.

People are always amazed when they look underneath my vehicle, my buddies, oil change guys...they can't believe how good it looks underneath since they assume it has always been in Iowa.

I was looking at those AutoTrader Runners and thinking, "Man, those prices are high." I didn't think my 2ND GEN was worth THAT much.

yeah, I second that....not all of us are lucky enuff to walk down the street & buy rust free 20+ yr old trucks.....
But I was lucky one day & found one which moved here from AZ...2nd owner bought it for his gf & she couldn't drive the stick & so he sold it for a loss... =) It's nice working on that one. It's amazing how much easier things come apart!! It's like a new truck w/ 160K on the ticker.
