O/D Warning Light

I have a new one for you wise yoyatech'ies, I 've finally gotten my 93 4runner on the road, bought it used & not running, Has a 3.0 with A/T , The issue now is sometimes when I start out its very sluggish and the O/D Trans warning light will flash on the dash, I drop into 2nd , it picks up drop back into D , Runs OK , O/D light goes out after a min or so.
Any Ideas? As always Thanks for the Help....

O/D Warning

Thanks Justin I'll ck That, I've seen some say you can use a paper clip if you don't have the correct tester, do you know if this is a proven method? I deal with Murphy (law's) daily,
