O/D Sensor / Tranny Code Question

1993 4Runner 3V OD issues
Just bought a 1993 4Runner 3.0 Automatic with 150k miles and it’s a beauty!! It had an EGR delete done too.
Recently, I’m having a lot of trouble in first gear (Drive). I’ve seen a lot of threads about this being a solenoid sensor.
I get a weird rev when trying to accelerate and my o/d sensor blinks. All other gears are fine. I checked my transmission which was a little low (no leaks), so I added in 2 quarts of transmission fluid and it responded well, but still a little sluggish in first but evens out much better.. but still after about 45 seconds of driving the o/d sensor starts blinking again. There are no indicators that it’s my trans either, and I don’t think it is

Hmm. Your O/D Off light is flashing, yet you're convinced there are no indicators that it's your trans.
You've got a trouble code. Here's how to read it: https://web.archive.org/web/20140816...31diagnosi.pdf
Remember that (most of) these codes refer to a "circuit." You can start by swapping out solenoids (it might work), but testing the harness with a multimeter is where I'd start.

93 4runner continued
My ass forgot to include in my last post that I did read the codes, that’s why I know it isn’t a trans issue. OD gave me a 62 and my engine gave me the infamous 41 and 52. Still added the trans fluid and now it’s responding x5 better. Anyone had this?

The O/D light is controlled by the transmission ECU. So if that light is blinking and you've logged codes it's gotta have something to do with the transmission in some way.
Personally, I'd drain all the fluids on the vehicle and start with new, clear the codes, then see what comes back on. Fwiw, my vehicle was much quieter with name brand oils in the powertrain over a parts store house brand.
I'm not sure how much ATF is needed to do a basic drain and refill on a 1993 3.0 auto trans, but I'd imagine somewhere around 4qts. So if you added 2qts to fill it up it was more than a little low.

Isn't code 62 "Severed No. 1 solenoid or short circuit–severed wire harness or short circuit"? If that isn't a transmission issue, I don't know what is.
FWIW, the basic capacity of the A340H is 10.9qts, but a basic drain and refill is 4.8qts https://web.archive.org/web/20130114...27descript.pdf (As I understand it, the fluid filling the torque converter won't come out in a basic drain).
