If it was aligned with a good idler arm, when you replace it it should fall back into spec.

IF it was aligned....sure. But, how many times have you seen old, failing IFS steering components with a good alignment? Consider, if a vehicle was aligned recently enough, it would stand to reason the person doing it would notice a bad ilder arm....or tie rods...or pitman, blah, blah. If that failure is from age, it's been bad for a good while. Probably not aligned in a long time, either. Notice the long standing rust!

I very well could be totally wrong, but it simply doesn't hurt to check these things. You know....inspection sort of thing?

Agree with thook, i did my idler arm and said f#$ it on the alignment, ate through two front 31X10.50 in no time, she was toed in BAD. Get it aligned to save being mad at yourself

Alignments are cheaper than rubber. If you can't afford to have an alignment done, do it yourself:
