Northwest Off-Road Specialties Lift Kits
Looking around for a lift kit for the future that includes everything I need to drive as best possible with a lift. I came across this and was wondering if anyone has tried anything like it? Doe sit look like it has most of the necessary products? I am new to the 4x4 world and am trying to re search for the future when I consider putting this in. Thanks a lot, Devon

If I can make a recommendation, to you. If you are going to get the lift, get the lift with the new leaf springs for the rear. Try and stay away from the blocks in the rear. Other than that looks like a solid lift. I didn't see brake line extensions... maybe the just aren't showing them.

You won't need brake line extensions for the front with that Procomp kit. If you go with that kit go with the Stage II and get new spring packs for the rear because I'm sure that yours are shot.

I concur with getting new rear springs.

My 4Runner (the one in the avatar) has the stage II kit on it- used to have blocks in the rear and they caused the rear springs to go from an ( to an ~ shape within about 2000 miles. That also caused me to have a vibration in the rear when on the pedal due to the springs letting the axle rotate and stress the u-joint. I replaced the blocks/springs with new leafs and no such vibration.

I like the kit, just not sure I'd ever buy anything from NWOR. I've seen too many unhappy customers of theirs on the internet. I think some say the NWOR stands for Never Warranty Or Return anything, even if its our fault.

I have the stage II also and thou it is a 4runner with coils I would say get the stage II skip right over the stage I. Also if you look around for the stage II you can find it reasonably cheap , I found one listed on the web somewhere and copied the ad because they said they were back ordered and went to 4wheel off road and showed them the price I found at the other site and they meet the price and took 10% off if I bought from them within a week so I ended up get it for $950 and it did come with extended brake lines front and rear.

NWOR springs have a reputation for having a tank like ride. I was gonna run a set my brother in law gave me until I found out how rough they were. My sister said he only ran them for 2 weeks..

My recommendation is that you look to another source than NWOR...that is JMO...

No you are correct. Their site is a pain in the ars. You have to call them or buy their catalog. They're a little pricy all around.
4Wheel Parts is where I got all my kit from for a fair price! When I got my kit, one of the shocks was wrong. One call and my new shock was there that week, no charge and I didn't have to send the other back!

considering the shocks were used/take-off (Rancho) either the shocks are really overdamped or the guy never stressed them enough to break them in or the springs are rather stiff. I should add I had at least 600 lbs in the back of the runner during that trip: tools, 4 duffle bags of clothes, tools, more tools and some hard hats, and it's still rather firm. I do feel it flex on softer whoops, even speed bumps if I'm doin 20, but real sudden bumps... I swear the rear tires come off the ground so maybe it is the shocks are overdamped.... Oh, and for the record, I bought the springs from 4wheelparts.com for I think it was 255 for the pair and new u-bolts, shipping included. I think they've gone up a tad since then to like 140 a spring so you might be closer to 300 if you order from them.

That's where I got my lift. My Dad ordered it, not sure what he went through, but it's not even ProComp. It's Rough Country, and as far as I'm concerned, it's great. Got the blocks though because NWOR said they were out of the leaf springs.
