Does anybody else have a problem with the 3.0 and noisy injectors. I thought I had a valve out of adjustment but when I put my stethoscope on the injectors I found my noise issue. Just wondering if anybody just put a set of reman injectors or new ones. Found a set of reman online for 359.00. If you have changed out the injectors on a 3.0 let me know what you used and how they worked.

They were noisy before I had them serviced.

They are noisier now that they are cleaned up. Tap, tap, tap......

Everyone keeps telling me I need to adjust my valves. Grrrr, not the valves, just those damn noisy injectors.

I saw one guy who wrapped them with pipe insulation to dampen down the noise a bit. I have never gotten the motivation to pull the plenum to do that.

 

Some MMO or SeaFoam in your fuel might help.
Toyota injectors are inherantly noisy.

 

can tell you that my rig was making one hell of a racket and likewise thought it was the tappets. Turned out to be a leaky exhaust manifold tightened it and quietened down immensly

 

how can you tell the different between the injectors and the valves?

 

^^listen to where the noise is coming from, and the valves are more of a heavier, metallic tapping.

 

Auto stethoscope. Harbor Freight has them cheap, but I don't think you have one of those in Willits. You can order one online, they are cheap and very usefull in the engine compartment.
