no pressure in cooling system when truck is hot
Im posting this for a friend trying to get a couple other ideas. 93 3.0 yota new headgasket 2 weeks ago. They went out and drove about 40 miles hauling a bed of hay. truck runs fine nice and strong no overheating no coolant loss but when they return home and pop the radiator cap within a couple minutes of driving theres no presssure underneath the cap at all. its still full and very hot coolant. Doesnt this seem strange? The only thing i can suggest is replace the cap to start with. They havent done anything yet. anyone else had this problem Thanks guys

agreed- if the cooling system / radiator isn't holding pressure, the first place to check would be the radiator cap. after that... who knows? a cooling system pressure test and checking for leaks then a leak down test may help find the problem.

I know you keep saying it's not losing coolant, but I'm pretty sure it has to be going someplace. If the cap is what's causing this problem, it's allowing coolant to leak out of the overflow when the pressure rises. Is the overflow container full after driving?
