my dads a cop car restorer drive for 1k miles and resell guy, so when i was growin up, we'd have have 5+ cop cars in our yard at once, i remember id always stay up late on weekends and watch my pops work on his cop cars all night. out of all the cop cars ive ridden in while growing up my dads 89 9c1 was by far my favorite, for a retirement gift my borother and sister and mom and i are gonna buy my dad either an 89 or 90 caprice so he has something to play with again. his current project now is my moms 99 P73 crownvic we are "converting" to a p71.
so what engine is in the celica? i bet those qq's save alot of money too eh?
if you ever lose interest in the caprice drop me a line, im willing to pay top dollar in a heartbeat, shes gorgous. if im not mistaken the engine in there is the 'detuned' ls1 right?

It has an lo5 350. Basically a gm truck motor. You're probably thinking of the 94/96's which had slightly detuned lt1's.
The celica has a 22re in it.

yeah if i were you id keep it, stock they run decent times 1/4 mile, but theres tons of performance mods out there too, my favorite mod to do would be a 5 speed swap, that will give ya some power. as for the celica, good job with the resto. oh, forgot to mention, my dad had an 89 an 90, both needed new water pumps, one blew a power steering pump the other blew a fuel pump and i think the 89's carberator went bad. and that was it, both had over 250k, between your 2 yotas and the caprice your never gonna hafta buy another car for the rest of your life lol.

NNNOOOOO. OH man. i know exactly how that feels. i just got through repairin the cab on my 82 from a limb. mine wasnt as bad as yours tho.
YEEEEEE HAAAAAAW!!!! Thats how ya do it right there. im glad you got her back runnin, man. good luck to ya. oh and some advice. dont park under a tree limb and cut down dead trees in advance LOL!!!
