If the valve is clogged, you should be able to clear it with some sort of pokey.
And no that's not necessary correct.
As a technician or mechanic, always start with the simplest.
Feel the hoses in the engine compartment first.
If they aren't even with the valve all the way in the red, look to see if the cable is attached to the valve. If it is, pull it and inspect. If its clear than its probably your heater core.

I doubt it would be clogged. It may be broken. you'll need to get a new one, ebay or junkyard. not that pricey.

What is the name of the valve? Just heater control valve? (for parts reference if I need to buy one)
Where do you guys recommend a heater core if I need one of those?
Thanks again for the help

Its just a heater control valve.
Don't get a heater core from oriellys
I had them order 7 until they got one in that wasn't too damaged. Car quest or Napa is where I'd go if I had to again.

If yours doesn't have AC, all of the debri from the windshield cowl will clog up the heater core vents and prevent heat. If you have AC, the condenser catches all of the debri.

Here is the first few steps to removing the dash which is a good size job https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...l#post52150377 to replace the heater core. I also have on the first page of my 88 build about getting the dash pad off. You will probably find a lot of junk in your ventilation system. I suggest spray painting your heater control cables for a reference to reinstall them.

I would suggest that you don't have to remove any of the heat control cable form the control console, only a couple of them from the airbox etc. But, it is a big job.
