no heat inside overheating outside

94 4runner with a 91 3.0 v6 in it. i just did the timing belt water pump tstate both pulleys tensioner and idler . had no leaks at all .a week later my wife drives it 3 miles stops truns it back on and now the temp is in the red and there is no heat out of the vents . she brings it back home parks it blowing coolant the whole way via the over flow . tested the tstate and it works fine . need help ! right now on all the pain meds i'm on i dont know if i'm think strait . i think the problem is so simple that i just cant see it . blockage in the radiator or in the heater core maybe ? i had an check engine code that said 7-1 but i fixed that with some new hose's . thanks

Sounds like an air pocket in the cooling system. Air pocket = no proper coolant flow.

The v-6 is notoriously hard to bleed. Be patient, you'll get it.

That is definately an air pocket in the cooling system. When that occurs, no coolant flows even though your water pump is pumping. Easiest way to purge the air is slowly loosen each hose connection and the thermostat. Eventually when you do that only water will escape. You'll likely see steam come out when you first start the process.
