No Crank condition: 95 4runner 3.0

so i just finished relpacing my buddies 3vze for him in his 95 4runner, attempted the first crank and all i heard was *click*. my first thought was the starter, but after listening and looking around i found that the starter doesnt even attempt to engage. the click is coming from starter relay:



and also this little guy here, which i think is related to the brake system:

I pulled the starter schematic for you.



Check the 80A ALT fuse in the junction block where you found the starter relay.

The relay then shunts power down through the Park/Neutral switch. Have you attempted to start in Neutral? It's a black wire w/white tracer, 12v+, going into the P/N switch, and it should be hot ONLY in crank. Assuming the switch is good, the black wire w/yellow should have 12v+ while cranking. This wire feeds the starter solenoid.

solved the problem, got the truck started last night. sounds pretty healthy. thanks for all the help to all those who posted!
