A Newbie and my 91 4Runner
Hi Guys -
My name is Phil, and I live in Central Wisconsin. Our family has been Yota fans for many years, starting with a well run, and long gone 78 Corolla, to a 85 2wd Pickup, a 87 4Runner, a 90 4x4 Pickup, a 97 4Runner, and finally to a 05 Sienna.
We still have the 90 Pickup and the 97 4Runner, as well as the van. For my first vehicle, and being a "toy" guru ever since I first rode in the 90', I knew exactly that I wanted a 91 4Runner, or possibly a 89-91 pickup. I've always loved the grill design.
I've been searching Craigslist for a while for a good Yota, and finally I've hit my jackpot.
This is my new 1991 4Runner. It has 269K on it, but it's motor was completely rebuilt at 200K, so it's like a new vehicle (minus tranny). I paid 2300 for it, and think it was a great deal No rust or anything. The photos say it all...
Enjoy guys! When we get her down here, and start to work on her (it will stay mostly stock, minus some lights and antennas) I'll post them. These pics are of it when it was still up in Minnesota at the previous owners' house.

Wow.. Super sexy truck, and a steal at that. is it from around here? (midwest, saw you lived in wisconsin) couldn't spend it's whole life in Minnesota and look that clean. welcome to the world of horrible gas mileage with 3.0s and automatics.

It was a Cali truck for it's life until 2 years ago...thank god. I found it south of St. Paul.
On a estimate, what do they get for mpg? I know what our 97 4Runner gets with auto and a 6 cyl...17. Can't be much different.

thats really clean, minus the stripes. Looks just like mine when i got it!
Keep it clean!!!!!
As far as mpgs, my guess is around 16. I sure hope at least. Im pushing 33's on stock gearing, but a 5 speed and getting 16.

Just like mine, but you have all that clean body thing going on. Mine is a life long Minnesota resident, i.e., rust. I get about 16-17 mpg overall. Now that winter is here, that will go down (using the 4x4, warming up, etc.).
Nice vehicle!
