New 'Yota w/pics...and "?'s"

I bought a new 88 4Runner a few weeks ago. Blew out the heater core replaced the t-stat so I have great heat now. The big plus? No rust. I smoked the intake to hunt down the vacuum leaks and I found three. The top left (intake hose) is an easy fix. The other two sensors I don't know what they are. They're leaking out of the little rubber boots on the end. I was hoping to save some time chasing wires and guessing if somebody here knows off the top of their head what they're main function is in life. She starts rough in cold weather and idle hunts every so often, I think fixing these three issues will solve my problems.

Also while I'm thinking of it... does anyone else here have aftermarket headers that run unusually close to the coolant line? I noticed it while poking around, in the winter I think it will be okay but in the heat of the summer I don't want to fight overheating issues. Maybe I'm worrying over nothing.

I'm definitely swapping out those doo-doo side-view mirrors for the OEM stock ones it came with. I truly hate the ones on this truck.

I believe this has just a body lift...I'm fairly certain I want to install a 2" suspension lift. Any thoughts or preferences on this? I personally liked the one from Toy Tec.

Thanks for the help!

the one closer to the front is to increase idle when the AC is turned on or when the power steering pump starts to load down the engine. the spring loaded screw that the hoses lead to will adjust that idle level.

the second one aids for a hot starting issue by adjusting the fuel pressure accordingly. it is only installed on 4 wheel drives apparently.

they are vsv's, vacuum switching valves.

they have filters/breathers, so i don't think that they are bad.

let us know what happens when you fix the intake tube. i am thinking it will steady out your idle.

I think it will too.thanks for the heads up on those sensors.I'm glad to know they are not faulty. Vacuum leak coming from the intake hose was really bad though

Actually it does look to be body lifted. Look at the gap between the front bumper and the grill not to mention the one between the body and the nerf bars on the side. I would estimate 2 inches (maybe 1, but looks like a bigger gap than my 1 inch BL produced). If you check the body mounts you should be able to see the pucks used to create the lift and measure them for an accurate figure.

it is definitely a body lift. I need to find out what kind of suspension lift, if any, was installed.I don't think it has 1 in the front, but the back has metal blocks I think to compensate for the suspension sag do the extra weight of the top. I will crawl under the it soon enough and really take a look at what's going on. I would really like to lift it another inch or inch and a half. I also plan on making some brackets for the front bumper. That gap aggravates me it looks like garbage.
