New OEM speedo cable, leave it or lube it?

My speedo cable is groaning and clicking etc in my 91, got one from the dealer and I have read multiple threads on lubing old cables with mixed opinions on graphite, WD etc but my main question is do I leave this brand new thing alone or give it a little lube love?

I would imagine leave it but it’s much easier to lube while out. I would think it’s good to go as is but figure I would ask

thank guys!!!

I would personally leave the new one alone, just as long as there is no factory lubrication procedure for a new cable.

Good choice yea the more I think about it I couldn’t imagine they took all of these out of the package and had a lube process for every cable installed....

I’m going with it!!! Thanks for the reply, sometimes you just need that second opinion for confidence
