Hey guys I'm somewhat new here. I've lurked for a while when I was back home with my 92 Hilux. I'm in college now and picked up this sweet 88 hilux. It's a SR5 XTRA cab with a 22re and runs really good for 208xxx miles.
Took these after putting on new shocks and changing the oil.

Thanks for warm welcome! I plan to keep it as clean as possible. I'm not sure what my next move should be. So far I've installed a new radio with cheapie rear 6.5's, bilstein shocks, and oil change. I'd like to fix up the exhaust (since I suspect there to a leak, yet it drives really good) with 2in pipping to a high flow cat with 2in pipping going to either a borla turbo muffler (I read somewhere that the TRD exhaust is made by borla and my roommates cousing has a 03 taco w/supercharger and trd exhaust and it sounds really good) or a super turbo muffler. Then again compared to my 92 this thing pulls really hard for stock. I'll take more detailed picture of the engine and underbody. Next upgrades will probably be replacement hella lights and either rust proofing or bedliner and/or new speaker/subwoofer. Of course money permitting.
One thing that is bothering me right now is the idle adjustment doesn't work and the ac idle up doesn't work. Can anyone help me out with that? Once again thanks!

Start with the factory service manual (FSM), which can be downloaded off the forum for free or purchased for about $50-$100.
Once you got that all sorted, ball joint spacers, rear springs, new shocks (go rancho!), 31x10.5r15 treadwright retreads, and start looking around the forum here for junkyard or otherwise made-by-toyota part swaps and upgrades you can find out there. Anywhere from extra interior handles to 4runner bucket seats to air flow meters... there's a lot of stuff out there to do on the cheap. Hunker down and do some more browsing and searching, as many will tell you if you ask questions that are too common, the answers to almost any question you can have has been asked and answered before. Welcome to Yota ownership!
