New header....now vibrations.

I didnt find anything for it so I made a thread.

I just installed a new hooker header. I noticed that the truck vibrates now. The header is a VERY tight fit. Misses the bell housing by about a half inch and torsion bar mount thingy by less than that. I noticed that the torsion bar mount thingy's heat sheild was touching the header so I took it off. IDK if that was cause the vibration....but I can feel is in the entire cab. I havent started it with the sheild off but I dont think that will make a difference. Any input would be nice.

No flex pipe...never had one. It never did this with the stock manifold. or the header I had before. The entire exhaust is all new.

well if you don't have rubber exhaust hangers or they're in bad shape, they can cause vibrations... just weird that it's doing it now and not before... probably something to do with harmonics. Might want to look into a flex pipe too

You say that it gets close to the torsion bar mount, is it possible that when the engine is running that it is rattling against the mount? When the engine is running it is going to move some, take a look at where it gets close and make sure those areas are not getting shiny from contact.

I did... I removed the shield and it stopped. But now when I turn right I can feel it...most likely because I am turning right thus making everything on that side move closer....so ill break out the grinder
