New Gears installed!
Got the rear third (thanks Robinhood!) with the lock-rite put in, along with a front third member with a detroit truetrac. Regeared from 4.10 to 4.88.
Now the speedo reads 55 when I'm doing 45
Climbed up a slippery hill I did last time with my opens after we got them intalled. With the opens, it would have to have lots of momentum and the tires would slip all over the place, now I can let out the clutch on my way up the hill, and its no sweat at all

I put 5.29's with detroit locker rear and truetrac front in my 88 with 5spd 4cyl. I'm also running 32's. It is great offroad but I have to travel about 35 minutes on the interstate to my hunting land. Too low for that kind of driving. I feel like I'm going to blow it up. So, I just ordered 4.56's. I hated to spend more money but it was way too low. I will be selling the 5.29's when I get the others installed.

Interesting phenomenon with these new gears... I get BETTER mileage!
I know everyone's thinking it, but I have taking into consideration the fact that I rack up miles 16% faster. I usually get 20.0 mpg and this time I filled up and I got 20.5mpg (it actually calculated to 24.4 but I multiplied by 0.84 to get the correct miles), and that's with about two hours of wheeling thrown in! So i figure with all mixed driving I could be doing like 23mpg!
Just shows that with a little OHC 4-banger throttle makes way more difference than revs...
