Need rim setup info for the lift I have

Hello everyone,

I have a lift setup on my yota on order and now I need to order new rims and tires.

Going with BJS's for the front and 80 series 7-wrap coils for the rear. Now from what I've read to what some have said, I just want to clear things up for myself so I don't order things I dont need to.

So I would like to go with 33x12.50x15 or 16 doesn't matter to me really. Now, from what I've read, the tires wont fit properly with 4" back spaced rims?? True? Or, can I go with less back spaced rims like 3", 3.25" or 3.50" and get away with it?

Offset?

HELP!!

what are the time considerations for this?
if time isn't a factor, get the lift installed and then mount the wheels and see what happens.
if it is, either contact the vendor or lift manufacturer and ask them what the backspacing requirements are, or 3.75" is a good place to start for backspacing since most bracket lifts with knuckle extensions require it. ball joint spacers acheive similar, though not quite as extreme, results as knuckle extensions so wheel requirements should be similar.
given your desire for a 12.5" wide tire, you'll want the wheel inboard as much as possible to minimize stress on the wheel bearings. but also given that, without a body lift, you may have some hammering to do.

Very true about the 3.75 12.5 tires and pinch weld trimming/hammering I still have a full lock rub both left and right but adding a small body lift 1-2" should help solve that problem.

I would start by deciding what size tires you WANT to run, then get a lift to accomodate your needs. But since you have the lift on order, you need to wait until the lift is installed and then make some measurements. The only way you can be guaranteed the right fit is if someone else has the same lift on the same truck, and that's just throwing the dice. I always start with the wheels and tires, then I know how much lift I need to clear.

Or bolt up the wheels and tires and figure out the lift to fit them?

So what's the deal with needing 4" back spacing?? Your tires are still 12.5s like I'm getting..
