need to pull water inlet studs

im working on my hg. and i need to pull the two studs in the water inlet at the top of the engine. i dont want to ruin these and would like to pull them out the right way. any ideas?

Put the two nuts together on the top of stud and tighten them against each other. Then use a wrench to remove them. Install them with the same method.
