need to know where to get a lot of parts and such
ok well i just picked up a 87 4Runner, which has the usual 1st gen problems.
1) fuel gauge barely works, it stays at full for a bit then goes to empty but it has fuel in it lol.
2) has a leak in the exhaust manifold so i want a new header
3) both front fenders and passenger side back fender
4) shifter boot
5) and interior pieces

1,3,4,5 Just post it here,, chances are the lads will have it. I could get my hands on the parts you need tomorrow,, but,, post your interior color wants, etc.
Another way is to search locally. Half the fun is in scoring what you need from an old beater,, most of the time for a couple a bucks
And "new" interior will likely run you as much as the truck.

1) its more than likely the sending unit...parts store, dont mess with junkyard parts here
2) I'd go thorley...stay away from pacesetter
3) fenders can be had new online for anywhere from $60-$130 i've seen, or you could wait it out like i did and find a decent set in the junkyard
4) boots...ebay, parts store?, junkyard
5) Junkyard, gray interiors are plentiful...brown is hard to find, red and blue harder

No such luck on that one, if you have a pic n pull near you that would be a good place to start. I have found many things ive needed to put my 86 4Runner back together and a few things it didn`t come with that i added. I go to a couple of diferent pic n pulls almost every weekend in a search for thing i need for my 4Runner, the search never ends.

Toyota cloth interiors seem to withstand the test of time pretty well (vinyl... not so much), I'm sure you'll find something at a junkyard.
