Yep, my father said he would have time so that is what I plan to do, my last fix didn't work of course. Plus if something goes wrong he has a spare car as long as I am at his house.

Just to be sure on that RockAuto website, it is the Drivetrain : CV Half Shaft Assembly Part # 665009 {#4343035011, 4343035020} CV Drive Axle that I would need to buy correct? And will that come with both the inner and outer CV boots? Also is the quality of items ordered off this site or of this brand semi-reliable?

Also are the boots the same thing as "joints"?

Thanks!

From your description of the rest of the vehicle, the quality will likely be just fine. CV shafts generally blow up for one of two reasons (1) age rots the boots, causing them to crack, so lubricant exits and dirt and water entry. That's what's happened to yours. (2) overstress due to relatively severe offroading, especially with a front-end locker. Neither of those is an issue in your case.

To answer your other questions, yes that is the part you need. You need just one, and the same part fits either side. It will come with both boots installed with the proper lubricant inside. All you need to do is get the old one out and slide the new one in. For sure do some searching and reading about how to do the swap; for most people it turns out not to be a trivial job.

Technically the "joints" are inside the "boots". The boots cover the joints and keep lubricant in and dirt and water out.
