Need immediate help guys!!!!

OK, I have pulled and rebuilt many engines but always domestic.. I have limited Foreign motor with Automatic. Have done 88 Toyota w/ 22RE and Manual before.
I'am installing 3VZE motor into 94 4Runner and the Torque Conv. is bolted to flywheel...I cannot get the F*&%$# to mate up.
I only have the lift till tonight so I need help bad...Would even like to talk to someone by phone to give me a hand...Maybe I missed something???
I have struggled for 4 hours and I am lost as to why this wont mate..
I have great mech. ability...(stab Manual tranny without pilot tool 22RE)

I promise if you can help by phone I will call you and you will not become my Automotive Tech. I never need help but this one time and you don't have to babysit me just wondering if there is some secret I didn't know or step I missed.
Thanks and hope someone answers

I'd love to help you, but my experience is limited to a manual tranny. Sorry, guy. Keep bumping, but doing some searching with keywords might help. I know this has been posted about before.

Thanks for the post...Should I have mounted the torque converter first and mated the engine to the Trans/converter assy?

I've had this problem with a Corolla transmission. Spin and push on the torque converter until it slides in a little more. There is an indentation it slips into for overdrive. Don't try to install the torque converter on the flexplate first! You will ruin the transmission if the converter and the input shaft don't line up and you try to bolt it down. Hope that helps!

yep mate T-Converter to transmission first, always. Otherwise Way to damn easy to screw the seal on the transmission otherwise.

Hey man, I would have come up if you'd called. I ruined a tranny trying to do it like that. It will break the oil pump ears in the tranny ,very easly. Give me a shout.
