Need help with my speedometer!

Jus bought a 86 toyota pickup, 136xxx miles, 5speed, 22re and completly bare bones stock!! But i love it! My speedo doesnt work at all tho, wondering if u guys had any ideas. It seriously didnt read any speed correct. When it was at idle it said 20mph, and freeway it said i was going no faster then 46mph? So any seggestions would be nice, tried seraching but couldnt find an answer. Btw, it doesnt jump at all, jus cant seem to read the right speed hah Thanx!

They can bind up sometimes. Check the cable routing. On my 81 graphite fixed my issue.

Pull the cable and see if it turns freely in the housing. If it is hooked up and not working, then the cable is probably binding. Clean it and lube it with graphite or a light weight oil.
