Need Help...my project is being held up!
To make a long story short I bought a 90 4runner that had a blown motor (the guy ran it out of oil). It had everything minus the short block. So I got myself a remanufactured motor and installed it with the parts I had and some others I received from a core I bought. The problem I am having is that I used the Stiffener Plates (the things that bolt on to the motor and attach to the bottom of the tranny bell housing) off of a 93 core...I think and now they will not line up. They are at least a 1/4 inch off! Are those things year specific or am I just messing up somewhere? I was able to thread all 6 of those bell housing bolts in by hand and they are pretty much torqued also. Any help would be awesome! Thanks!

I had the same problem, they will work with force -- just make sure you get the threads in straight -- I had the same problem though - make sure they are on the right sides and all that too
