Question Need help getting cam gear on

Doing the timing chain for my dads 94 22re. Ive read a few write ups gettin the cam gear back on but im still confused. Right now ive got a wire holding the cam gear up. All the guides are in place. tensioner taped up. Bright links set to the proper spots on the gears. Just confused on gettin the extra slack so it rolls over on to the camshaft. thx guys. great site btw

I think you need to take the gears off, put the chain over the gears, then put gears/chain on at once. Never done this b4 tho....
