need help choosing a new engine
#21
Running one of Oregon Engines 22RE long blocks in my 86 DD. Currently have about 10k miles on it since last March. Runs good, ~22mpg, uses no oil, is quiet. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. Came wrapped in plastic, securely strapped to a pallet. Return core handling was also easy.

3.4 or Chevy 4.3 are both very common and almost drop in swaps with lots of support from many company's.
I may do the 4.3 into my 22re 4runner and have the 3.4 supercharged going into my 90 4runner this spring and if you look in the SWAP section here you will find many wright ups about both plus many other different swaps both foreign and domestic. 3.0 jut not worth it power upgrade and m.p.g. wise compared to the many other swaps out there for the same money range.

Yeah, for some reason the swap section is very hard to find on this forum, here you go:
