Need help with 22RE motor

I have a 1993 Toyota 4x4 with a 22RE. The motor was rebuilt and when we crunk it, it ran good at first, then it started smoking real bad. When I test drove it, it wanted to skip and choke down. Now when we crank it, it will run for about 5 mins and then shut off and wont crank back up for a while. I noticed oil getting in the intake and the injectors are getting so hot you cant even touch them. Any help will be appreciated, we are at a stand still at the moment with it.

Oil in the intake and smoking doesn't sound like something was rebuilt right.

Time to take stuff apart to find the problem. Sounds like a timing issue.

Sounds like the rings are incorrectly installed on the pistons. As for the injectors being hot, I am not sure about that one. Perhaps you need to make sure that the ground wire that is supposed to be on the intake manifold is actually there and is good to go. There is actually quite a few ground wires that are supposed to be in place. Super Bleeder actually posted various photographs showing the locations and giving typed descritpion of each one. With the oil in the intake problem I am not thinking that the engine was assembled correctly. I recently changed the motor in my 4runner and I have had no smoke at all so far.

Thanks for the advise, yeah I guess im going to tear it back down and see what the deal is, I was thinking it may be something with the rings, I figured the oil going in the intake somehow was getting the injectors hot. But I have to say, this truck was a piece when I got it, it was never taken care of so we are having to rebuild everything from the ground up.
