Its probably going to be impossible to get a torque wrench in it anyway. But it gives you an idea.
Ok, thanks.

Now i'm confused...your talking about a 3.0??? you sig line says "22re" where there would be no crossover.... but if its at the bottom of the exhaust manifold where i now think your talking about it still couldnt be much more than 33lbs....its all the same material for the same purpose unless you may have something else wrong. Does it look like its connected correctly everywhere else? hangers, muffler and cat. etc.?

And way to vote!!!

I'm talking about the 22re on the bottom of the manifold where it bolts to the single exhaust pipe.

downpipe
that's what it's called.
the downpipe connects to the flange on the bottom of the manifold, and is two pipes that merge into one pipe in front of the cat converter.
and the torque on the nuts to the manifold are the same.
the nuts are also one-time use: they are either 'squished' into a sort-of oval shape, or have a split near the end (imagine a nylock with a hairline cut across the nut, then crimped against the rest of the nut), which is designed to lock the nut in place.

Ok. I've reused the nuts and gaskets. I think I'll redo that and see what happens.

I reused the nuts as well. No problems yet.

I'd be more hesitant to reuse the gaskets though, (unless you like wrenching) as they are crushed when the nuts are tightened up. On a microscopic level, the gasket conforms to the bumps and ridges on the mating surfaces and thus no gas can escape. Once a gasket is used, that compressibility has been used up. Best of luck with that.

That said, I reused my exhaust manifold gasket expecting to have to replace it within a couple months, but so far so good. Its not very difficult to do if it does leak. Make sure to use anti-seize on all those bolts.

[QUOTE=ThomasTedder;50920943]

Obama Bin Biden Positions

1. Higher taxes (he touts income tax breaks for 95% of Americans, but under current Bush tax cuts the lower 40% [under $43,000] pay no income taxes whatsoever. What he really means is take money from people who work alot and give it to people who work much less and call it a "tax credit" even though we know it's really just a gift [bribe]).

The money has to come from somewhere in order to properly govern a country. China owns 40% the the American debt. How do you think this is going to play out. China is the largest communist country, and it has lots of nukes.

2. Sex education for Kindergardeners.

Not quite how you are putting it. Its not "porn videos for toddler" as you seem to be implying. They have sex ed starting in 3rd grade in Canada. Canadians have fewer STDs, teen pregnancies, sex crimes than the US.

They don't give explicit graphic detail, just were babies come from, so children (like Palin's daughter) don't find out at 17 that babies don't come from storks.

Maybe a little sex ed would have clued her into to using a condom

4. No guns.
Countries that have fewer guns have less violent crime, thus no need for guns to "protect" yourself. Besides, guns harm far more household members than criminals.

5. Higher taxes.
Once again, see above.

6. Government takeover of the best health care system in the world (It worked so well for England that they have to import half of their Doctors from India for the cheap labor).
Whoa, there it is NOT one of the best. In fact, Cuba has a lower infant mortality rate than the states, CUBA!!!!. Britain has a much better health care system. So does Canada. Break a leg in Canada, and you're fixed for free. Break a leg in the states, and your down $20 000 or so. I know which I'd pick- I can't afford a $20G hospital bill.

8. Higher gas and energy prices ("because we need to heal the planet").

Don't tell me you don't think climate change is real. Two words: New Orleans

10. Failed abortions that result in a live birth of baby should be denied medical care to make sure the abortion is successful.

This sort of contradicts number 6. I'm pretty certain the facts don't support this.

12. Force unions on workers who don't want them through coercive public votes in lieu of the secret vote process currently in place.

Not sure this is fact, once again.

14. Free welfare, education, and medical care for illegal immigrants who illegally entered our country. Oh, and we should keep letting them in.

Again, nor is the tooth fairy real (sorry).

[Bi16. Surrender and defeat in Iraq. He tried to stop the surge, but McCain and his lot saw to it that we kicked their butts in their own backyard.[/i]

You're kicking their butts now eh? I don't think so. (You're not.)

You lost a looooong time ago. You're not dealing with people who have a rational outlook on the value of a life. "You win if they loose, they win if they don't loose".

You're between a rock and a hard place on this one, cause of a stupid move by the last Republican in office, I suggest you let someone else think this through.

They last thing the world needs is another messianic American President, who's convinced his on a mission from God. Heads up! The extremists we're fighting are exactly the same mentality

McCain's Stances

1. Let's start passing out some guns. (Proven fact, the more concealed carry weapon permits in a community the lower the crime rate). Outlawing guns means only criminals have guns.

Proven fact:
Murder rate the USA is TRIPLE what it is in Canada (essentially the same type of people, but different laws). Explain that one.

2. Lower taxes.
Borrow more from China, that won't come back to bite you in the er.. bottom.

3. Drill here, drill now, pay less.
Time you learned a bit about climate change and how it is going to cost you way more in the next ten years then getting cheap oil. how much do you think its going to cost ultimately to rebuild New Orleans. This years storms?

Climate change is going to most effect the poorest countries in the world. Poor, angry people are drawn to extremist religion. You figure out the rest.

5. Secure the border.
Lets not let anymore moose in from Canada (though Palin may like that). Obama can stop Mexicans just as easily as McCain.
6. Lower taxes.

7. Smaller government.
The Messianic Club with the nuclear codes? Not if I have anything to do with it.

9. Whoop some terrorist butt.

Cause that's working REALLY well. Point to one war the US won, where the enemy didn't wear uniforms. There are none.

I can go on, but there's no point. Anyone with half a brain can clearly see that McCain and Palin are on the side of us who work for a living. That those of us who like to drive our trucks on "mother earth" aren't ruining anything. That the constitution gives us the right to bear arms and protect ourselves from criminals, thugs, and greenpeace activists. They're on the side of us who think we should drill our own damn oil and stop giving $700 million a year to countries like Venezuela and Iran. That we should build 40 nuclear plants and dozens more coal fired and natural gas plants to give us the energy we deserve in a form that won't hit the global market and drive up prices. That they're willing to protect us regardless of what the polls say.

This is one of the reasons America is not well respected as a country (NOT as individuals necessarily ) anymore.
