Looking under the hood today and noticed this bracket was just dangling. Its on passenger side.

It has a square hole where it should sit flush with a short rubber brake line that probably should have a clip to hold it.

Then it goes into a hard line along firewall and secures at a brass t- fitting at bottom of PB Unit.

I enclosed some pic's maybe they can help identify. Anybody know where it goes ?. Looks like it's been off for a long while.

Looks to be the hose for the slave cylinder for the clutch. If it is, that bracket bolts to the firewall just to the right of where the ac lines come through the firewall. I looked at my 4runner, which is a 91, and it looks like that is probably what it is. Follow that hose up and see if there is any holes in the firewall that dont have anything bolted in. Good luck!

 

I've checked that area on firewall and no holes for missing bracket.

All I found is where hard line small insulated brackets mount. It's weird because the bracket seems like it has to mount close to hose , ya know a confined area not a lot of room.

Took another couple of pics of firewall area.
Seems like this could be only place where it would bolt on, but again no holes.

I'm thinking this should be pretty simple, but I'am stumped. Maybe someone has a pic where this bracket goes.

 

I just noticed your signature is a 3.0, I thought I would look and see if it was possibly something a 22re might have in common but couldnt find it anywhere. Looks like one of the 3.0 guys will have to answer this one.

 

Thanks for the efforts you guys. I know for a fact that this motor was replaced sometime ago. I thinks it's from a 1992, but can't be for sure. When I rebuilt front of motor the tension-er for timing belt was wrong.

1994 had a hydraulic tension-er and this one has a spring tension-er which fit earlier models.

The block has no #s on it but from what research I've done blocks were replaced depending on damage when head gasket campaign was going on and they didn't stamp replacement blocks with #s.

So needless to say this motor is kinda like a mutt, not the original pure bread lol.

Which makes me wonder if that bracket even belongs there.

I have to figure this out.

Maybe I'm just not seeing it.
It's pretty cluttered up in there.

I checked my '91 4Runner 3.0, This is definitely the clutch slave hose support bracket. I have the exact bracket on mine. It bolts to the side of the block near the back, behind the Air Suction valve, and shares a mounting bolt with the AS valve.

Can't get a picture with all the hoses in there but if you look with a mechanics mirror in that area on the block above the exhaust manifold you should see bolt holes to match.

Yes, it holds the hydraulic line that feeds the slave cylinder. It bolts to the head (not the block). Here is a photo that at least gives a glimpse of where it bolts on. There is a spring clip that slides into a groove on the clutch line fitting to secure it in the bracket, yours might be missing.



The side closest to the firewall bolts directly to the head, the side closer to the front of the vehicle shares the bracket with the AS valve as jgrant indicated. My AS valve bracket was removed for the header install, but I cut the lobe off the old bracket so the clutch bracket would still bolt on properly.

 

Wow! Thanks much Wrenchinjoe and Jgrant721, I was beginning to think it was a left over from a motor swap. I know exactly where it goes now. Never thought to look on head. I'll probably need to lose 10 lbs in my hands just to get in there lol.

well mine looks a little different from theirs but thats probably because if the engine swap but here are a couple pics for you. Mine is a little different due to my engine swap. But that bracket would be the same. Dont look at my brake lines at the top because they have been moved, but you can see where they came up from the bottom location. heres a closer one. hopefully that helps you.
