all that's left to paint is the hub boddies(where the caliper bolts to)
i'm using rustoluem brand primer+paint casue it's nice, thick, and druable.also i'm 2 toneing my suspension parts black and green, the knuckles,calipers,u-blots,diff graud,3rd member, and steering rods will be green the rest black.it's gonna be sick

here's an update:
so i've been busy this past month or 2...between work(which gets very busy in new england winter time working at a body shop, pulling like 50hr weeks) and building my axle...anyways here's the progress

JB welded the knuckle balls smooth

took apart and re-built the hubs

got my gears and parts and set them up..the most part the gears done just gotta put a dial indicator on the them and check out the specs, once thats done i'll toruqe it all down and BAM!

i also have the high steer parts painted and readt for instaul(these pics were before they got painted, the soda can is for size realitivity)the high steer is very beefy

as of right now i just have to get then knuckle re-build and brake rotors, then the front axle will be done.so far it's looking like 3-4 months before the SAS goes down...can't wait!

Gear pattern on that 3rd is way too shallow from what I can see in that pic.

That is a broken pinion waiting to happen.

i haven't updated this in a while, the axle is alomost done...awaiting a re-build kit from marlin(in the mail should have it by wesnday)

but here's what i have left to get before the axle goes in:
-ford 57s for the rear
-frt spring hanger kit
-steering box mount
-shocks+shock hoops
-wheel spacers

once the axle is in i can focus on getting the rear done
-5:29 v6 gear set(yukons)
-instaul kit
-detriot locker
-solid spacer
-rear wheel bearings and seals
-rear diff armor
-shock tabs and shocks

then once the rear is done i can get my frt d-shaft set-up and test it all out...can't wait looking like 2 months before the SAS. and then another month or so after that before i get 4wd back

spent this past week getting my front springs made...it's a RUF pack made from 86+88 pick up springs.here they are mocked up. i'm painting them with POR15, putting them together, then paint them with rustolum.(painted them with rustoluem is key becuase POR15 should be topcaoted, not left bear.)

these are some really cool spring claps i found at a local spring shop(all they do is leaf and coils springs, and torsion bars). they call them "quick claps" they come in a varity of sizes and cost about $1 ea. to put them on all you do is c-clamp the spring pack put them together as shown and bend the tabs over.

now i just gotta order up some ploy bushings...

Looking good man. I won't be Done my SFA until mid july my buddy's shop has been tied up with him buliding his jeep cheokee.
At least I got the rear springs done though. POR15 is great stuff just don't get it on your hands it takes a week to get it off.
