My truck won't start and other issues

ok i have two problems, both, well, almost never happen but here they are:

1: my truck won't start, i turn the key and all i hear is the dreaded solenoid sound "click". when this happens i can roll start it/ or just put it to run and jump the starter using the battery and a wire. the solenoid alway's clicks so its not the solenoid, or clutch-ingage-switch or clutch-start-cancel switch cause without them the solenoid won't click, the starter is new, the mating serface between the starter and bellhousing is clean, the battery is good, the battery-to-block/battery-to-firewall/battery+to-starter are all good and new and bigger, but i have just found that it is as if the wiring harness has been changed and all the wires going down the side of the engine(the ignition-to-solenoid wire to be specific) have been soldered on, kind of a crappy job but being to lazy to redo it i just cleaned it up(it was working good when tested) and covered it with elevtrical tape and whire loom and taped that shut, could it be that? if that connection gets wet could it not work? is there something else it could be? its been working so far(about a month) but it usually takes about 1-3 months for it to do it again, happens a couple times, then never again for another few months.

2: i was sitting at a road closer due to construction for about half an hour to 45 min. i decided not to turn off my engine as i usually do cause the last time i was stuck in this closer my engin wouldn't start (see earlier in the post lol). so i sat there on a mild incline with my foot on the brake (no e-brake at the moment either lol ). about halfway through the wait i noticed my dash indicator light for my left turn signal was faintly on, it was very faint, but then it slowly grew in intensity till it was as bright as if it was on. it was dark so i could see both my brake lights were on, on the vehicle behind me, and if i lifted the pedal just enough for the lights to turn off so did the turn light indicator, this drove me nuts for about 10 min, then it slowly lessened in intensity till it was off and stayed off. . WTF lol? why?

so apart from just wanting to tell someone about these rediculous and anoying events, any insite to why this is happening and how do i fix it will be much appretiated lol p.s. sorry for the life stories lol
