My new project/88 runner
Where did the engine go?
only a couple of small rust spots
The white part at the bottom of the pan ,is all the water that came out of the engine when i drained the oil..he said he was playing in some water and hydrolocked it ,but thats fine cause i have a nice turbo block that i can use for parts..lol
this gives a little better idea of how mch water is in the bottom of the pan as far as how big the pan is
its alot..lol
seats are in decent shape
pass side is a little better.
and i was checking t out last night ,and found a brand new craftsman 3/4 inch ratchetand 17mm socket..lmao
this is what it looked like before i got it home.
it was acually worse than that ,it had been parked under a tree for 3 months.took a couple of washings with clorox and dawn dishwashing detergent to get it clean ,plus i spent 4-5 hours pressurewasing every nook and cranny under it .

cleaned em out and checked the bore ,it needs bored, but i got a good turbo short block ,so i'm gonna use everything from it and just swap in these pistons after i clean em up and do a quickie rebuild to get the truck running ,so i don't lose interest in it and bore this block and start a stroker build up .
this engine was on borrowd time anyway due to the timing chain haveing lunch with the timing cover so soon it would have watered down the oil anyway and had a bottom end failure ,this prolly saved the block from a horrible death.

Well its just about done ,just gotta go into town ,pick up a throwout bearing and a couple of hoses and drop it in.I am useing the later model intake also and the engine has a engine builder 268 cam and new valve springs ,and timing set along with the turbo oil pump.
Painted the exhaust manifold with some high heat por-15 ,figured i'd give it a shot , took almost 2 hours of bressure washing to get all the caked burt on mud off ,had to where googles and hold the wand right on top of it with the jet stream..lol
i used my turbo block due to it being in better shape ,made a block off plate for the oil return port ,and a bellhouseing bolt has the same threads as the oil supply bango bolt i i just applied some lock tight and stuck it in the hole ...

well everything is in ,but the fuel pump will not turn on ,had to disassemble the AFM and clean it where the guy let water sit in the flap area and seize it up ,but break -free took care of that ,work fine now ,and i have pulled the plug for te pump and wired it right to 12 volts ,ran fine ,changed the circit opening relay ,and still no turn on ,took the cover off the ECM and there is no sign of water entry there ,even jumped teh FP1 and B+ terminals on the diagnostic block and no go. plus i can't get the codes to come up once i short t1and e ,i have a job interveiw this morning so i'll mess with it later today.

well i got it running the next day. After finding the AFM stuck closed due to the water ingestion ,i tore it apart and cleaned it really good with Break Free gun cleaner and lube ,that stuff it the ลลลล ,makes PB blaster look like water, and i love PB blaster ,annyway something was wrong in the underhood fuse block ,and something i messed with over there returned the power to the EFI circit ,so the fuel pump started ,asnd it runs great pleanty of power concidering it has 32's and stock 4.10 gears..lol
