is my fuel pump going out? some kind of sensor?

when i'm offroad the motor wants to cut out, like it wants to stall but doesn't. it never acts like that on the street.

today after coming back from the mudhole it stalled out on me on the street and wouldn't crank up for a couple minutes, then when i got it started it acted like it was running on 2 or 3 cylinders and as soon as i'd touch the gas it'd die.

after turning it over for a good 5 minutes it started up and drove me home fine.

a couple times on the way home the check engine light flashed on for maybe 1/4 mile and flashed back off.

some sensor is probably loose. check the plug on the AFM to make sure its on there well and is clean. Clean the AFM.
pull the codes and post them up here.

Did you go through any water?

afm= Air Flow Meter
Like scoobie-doo said, its on top of the air filter box/housing. It measures the amount and temperature of air entering the intake tube, sends that info to the ECU, which sends calculations to the fuel pump, which sends the appropriate amount of fuel......
Someone correct me if I explained it wrong....

Pull the CODES!!! POST 'EM UP!!!
