My 22re Rebuild

Alright, so to start i got a 1988 Pickup 22re, a few weeks back after getting sick off dumping 4 liters of oil in her a week due to burning and leaking i decided to go ahead with a complete engine overhaul. I've never rebuilt anything from japan before im more used to German cars, but hey cant be much harder. So heres what i got; engine kit from EPN, head bolts and conrrods from Top Line, and a brand new cylinder head from Mizumo, i also got a cam coming form EPN.

The Truck

Pulling the Motor

Came out easy to my surprise

I pulled the motor myself just me and the hoist.

Taking the block apart

Label EVERYTHING!

The empty bay

The new stuff

Timing kit with steel rail from EPN

Well thats it for now the block is at the machine shop right now hopefully ill get it this week. The p.p.o did a crapy job of rebuilding the motor, the block itself is a 22r with a 22re head i dont know if theres a diffrence between the two but the combo seems to work. Once i got the motor rebuilt im thinking of painting the whole truck in line-x stuff just wondering if anyones done this?

Man it really looks like you have some quality parts for a good rebuild. Now all you gotta do is pressure wash that engine bay. That motor looks like it has seen much better days.
