Nah I got Pink Floyd cassettes that I can listen to and its the only properly functioning radio component in the truck. My adjustable antenna hilariously falls off my truck if I raise it too much and only one speaker works.

Smart move. I only miss cassette players in cars and nowhere else. Just grab the thing, feed it to the deck and that's it, no touch screens or tiny digital button clusters to throw you off the road.

My 4R radio's a little bit different:

While you're replacing vacuum lines replace the low pressure return line from the fuel regulator. It's only about 4" long . Mine cracked spraying gas over the distributor and exhaust manifold. No idea how it didn't catch fire.
Good luck with your project!

I'm still waiting on my job to start back up so I can finally put money into this and then I'll get the vacuum lines done. I'll also look into the return line. And thanks, it's slowly getting better by the day. While I'm without income I've been trying to fix small things that I have tools and parts for. My dome light works now and today I was able to get my steering wheel to lock in place without destroying the mechanism. Right now I'm looking into the disconnected hose that isn't shown in diagrams as far as I've seen. Eventually I'll get the interior panels off and then I can really get started on the rust repair and wiring in the back. After that it should be warm enough to take the top off

i don't have money to burn but i go to a vocational school where we have a welding shop and one of my friend is an exceptional welder and he offered to weld what i need if i pay for his gas and wire. We also have a collision repair shop that could possibly help with the rust and an auto technology shop and i only have to pay for parts because its supervised student labor. i do get where you're coming from though on how this probably isn't the truck for me but I want nothing more in this world than to make this a proper vehicle. I'm inherently lucky for some reason so i'm just hoping i'll win the lottery and be able to do a motor swap and pay for professionals to do it the right way.

yeah I decided that I'll never get rid of this truck. I'm going to sell the rear bumper because I'd like a stronger trail gear tube bumper and as I go through it I may find other parts that people can buy.

As tempting as that sounds I don't think the parts I have for it are in good enough condition to make double my money. all I really got for good parts are the rear bumper, my dash, my cluster, and my stereo. And maybe this old car phone but I kinda want to make that work again so I can use it. Although if people start trying to throw money at me for my parts then maybe but even with everything wrong and all the money that needs to go into it I still love it. I'm actually about to order all new MOOG tie rods, pitman arm, and idler arm to revamp my steering and then if I can I'm gonna find a replacement part for the tilt wheel lock... otherwise I'll drill a hole through the assembly and bolt it in place. But I'd rather find a replacement part.
Or, I'll give you $1200 this weekend and take it off your hands

Antenna.
I got mine from here:

And this thread helped me to replace it:

If you still want the rear bumper I was planning to sell that from the start, I'd rather something that can actually take an impact. Won't need a flimsy bumper when I replace it with a log. As much as i'd like to sell the dashboard because money is tight, if the next 4runner I buy has less rust but a crappy interior im gonna want my dash and at least my gauge. but the stereo is available, roll bar padding, door panels (drivers side is missing the switches but has the frame for them and the hole cut in the panel, passenger side still complete). It's officially going to become my woods rig and I'll keep the stuff I need and want but if anyone wants to buy stuff they just need to ask.

Looks like $10-$20 for shipping and I can't find an asking price for the stereo so we can work it out
