Finally got around to mounting the 170mm "Striker" LightForce lights on my 4runner yesterday . Just in time because Its starting to get darker earlier and earlier here and I seem to be driving in it more. Let me tell you, the modular headlights + the LFs are super bright compared to the sealed beams of the p/us.
I also like that I was able to mount them on the top of the bumper instead of the front.

I ended up not having a drill besides an impact with a 1/8" bit of my friends. Once I got those holes drilled, I used the other drill bits with a ViceGrips latched on the end. It wasnt difficult because the bumper and pretty dang thin metal.






I used the little punch out next to the CCS button to mount the toggle. I broke one of the tabs so I had to glue it back in. The tape is there to keep it from popping out while the glue dried. I actually think I need to re-glue it.

I dont really know the watts. 100, 120 or 150 maybe. I was given them by a friend's parents a few years ago.

If your lights are the 170's, then they are 100 watt.

I run the 140's (75 watt) and love them. In the winter i run with the yellow lens that shoot a short wide beam. In the summer i run the clear with the pencil beam set.

The filters ARE awesome in the snow I had these lights on my '93 p/u all through high school when I had to drive 32 miles round trip to school, mostly in the dark. They don't blind you when its snowing, and they reflect off moose eyes differently then the white filters so they are more noticeable.
I also have the clear filters and use those when its raining/wet (blues suck in rain) and when I need A LOT of light. The blue filters dim the light a little and dont throw it quite as far, at least thats what it seems.
Well I wasn't sure if maybe the people I got them from upgraded to like 120 watts or something. They are still very bright. I love that you're able to adjust the pattern with these lights. I plan on getting a pair of the yellow filters this winter, maybe another pair of these lights, probably in the 140mm size. I would have to upgrade the electrical circuit in my truck though. I can hear my alternator whine when I turn these on
I'll try to get a shot of the blues tonight. I have tried before and failed but I was driving, not at a stand still.

Google LightForce lights or something like that and you should find a place. I actually got these for free, used, but free. One has a boil/bubble in it and the reflective backing inside the housing is a little faded but they are still super bright. They run anywhere from $200-$600, depending on what size and options. there are 140mm, 170mm and 240mm. Then halogen or HID, different color filters, wiring harness, etc.

I fail at taking night pictures. I'll try again tomorrow night maybe. Im too tired to drive out to the dark area again. This is the only decent picture out of like 30 I took. The long dark line is the crack in my windshield This is with all lights on.


I can actually see further than this. Pictures just dont do it justice
