i have a 87 4runner n the motor went and i really want to keep it it has a 22re fuel injected motor i found some one sell a 22re fuel injected motor out of a 93 4x4 pick up...my question is will it just go in n pulg up the the 87 harness or do i need to modify anything...if any one has any input it will be appricated plz message me..or email or if local (long island ny) call or text

I do not think that you can just plug in the 87 cpu. I think that I would remove all of the harness and cpu with the new engine. That would be the safe way.

 

texted you. motor will work.all the other stuff that is sensors or electrical will not. pull the old motor and bolt all of it that is not the same up to the new motor... drop it in. voila...

 

^^ agreed just use the long block and bolt on your oldies
