More Newb Mod questions

Ok.... 92 Sr5 4Runner....

Thinking about doing some modding to the beastie... but just some mild interior stuff....

First off... I want to dump the stock radio/CD/Tape deck.... how hard is this to remove and does anyone have a "walk-thru" of removing the 2nd Gen. Stock stereo?

secondly... even though it might seem ultra cheesy... I am kinda struck by the white face backlit gauges... (not the ones that just "glow")... how hard is it to get the instruments out of 2nd Gen to put those in? Is it REALLY worth the effort....???

In addition to that.... my gauge needles are totally faded... is there a way of getting new or new looking needles?

Can you tell I'm dying to tinker with Yukiko????

Dublin,

Well just a tad bit of mod fever The exterior has a few rust bubbles and some cracks that I would love to get fixed to keep the body looking great... but I am NOT a body guy so I am kinda stuck in that department....

But goofing with electronics suits me better... I have rewired my whole Beetle... so I am not too scared by that I have indiglo speakers in the beetle and a few other fun tricked out things... just for my own giggles...

When I redo the beetle dash this summer I am going to rework everything in "aircraft cockpit" theme... design plans are laying here in my shop with the new dash and center console on order... She will get a gun metal grey mettallic paint scheme and a "retro futuristic" refurbishing.... Why? Cuase I think it would be cool...

I got no wife and no kids... might as well spend the money on my pride and joys

So if I am going to put a new radio in.... I might as well just do the gauges too while I have everything tore apart
